Ducking out early | Closing time for McSweeney | Soap solutions | Cool cities | Two-day marathon I have realised that a repeating problem in the Blind date columns is the phrase “it’s a school night” or “it’s a weekday”. Multiple questions are often answered with the same excuse, that they have to go to work/university/school drop‑off in the morning. This problem is very easily fixed. Surely the date could simply take place on a weekend so they can stay up late and actually enjoy themselves.
