Sit Down With Xi and Putin in Shenzhen — But Don't Let Moscow Write Ukraine's Terms
Beijing confirms it is working on a first-ever Trump-Xi-Putin meeting at APEC. America First means taking the meeting on America's agenda, not handing the Kremlin a new Yalta photo-op.

For the first time, the leaders of the world's three biggest military powers may sit at one table. "China is in communication with relevant parties regarding a meeting between the three heads of state," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning told reporters in Beijing on Wednesday, according to Al Jazeera, The Guardian and Anadolu. The meeting could take place on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen, set for Nov. 18-19. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Financial Times, as cited by Anadolu, that "work is under way on organizing such a meeting." Asked for specifics, Mao said, "I have no information to share at this time," Global Times reported. As this was written, no meeting had been formally announced. But if it happens, President Trump should go. Talking to rivals is not weakness. Ronald Reagan talked to Moscow.
