Vanessa Scanlan says the constituency is desperately in need of a decent MP who would offer genuine support for the problems it faces. Plus letters from Leila Roberts and Richard Ellis I live in the Clacton constituency, in one of the surrounding villages, some distance from the town, and I agree with Sarah Elizabeth Cox’s characterisation of the town ( Farage has turned Clacton into a human zoo. Here’s the truth about what’s happening here, 12 August ). When I go to Clacton to take my kids to the beach or to the cinema, there is a sudden shift in the character of the area. The deprivation radiates in some streets. It is painful to see the residents so keenly in need of a decent MP to offer genuine support for a town with so many problems being exploited by Nigel Farage. Continue reading...
