New Jersey authorities responded to bomb threats at polling stations in seven counties, prompting temporary closures as voting began, according to state Attorney General Matthew Platkin. The threats, which were emailed, involved polling places in Bergen, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Passaic counties. Law enforcement was deployed to each location and secured the sites, Platkin said in a statement. “We will not tolerate any attempts to interfere with our elections, and we will swiftly hold accountable anyone who seeks to interfere with the safety or security of our electoral process,” Platkin said. He added there is no indication the threats were credible. (Source: Bloomberg)
