Rio Tinto Group’s copper production, a key plank of the miner’s growth plans, climbed 5% in the fourth quarter thanks to the continued expansion of its operation at Oyu Tolgoi in Mongolia, while iron ore production at its core Pilbara operations hit a record in the last three months of the year.
