Tom Michaud describes how KBW responded in the aftermath of Sept. 11 by focusing first on helping the families of victims and then on rebuilding the firm. He says he, John Duffy, and Andy Senczak formed the top leadership group, alongside an office of the chairman, and that nearly all of the firm’s colleagues came from the equity side. Michaud says the rebuilding effort gave the team a way to channel grief and energy into action, and he recalls the determination that KBW could not end because of the attacks. (Source: Bloomberg)
