The New York State Department of Veterans’ Services and Mountainside Treatment Center are co-hosting a panel discussion on Veteran mental health and recovery. The event includes a screening of scenes from the upcoming feature film, "Between Wars," starring Emmy Award-winning actor, writer, and director Michael Imperioli (of "The Sopranos") as a combat Veteran-turned-therapist. Using the film as a springboard, this week's panel examines the evolving challenges Veterans face in reintegrating into civilian life, confronting trauma, and navigating complex mental health systems. In honor of Veterans Day 2025, Dr. Lessie Branch, NYS Department of Veteran Services Special Assistant for Community Engagement, and Keith Appleton, Senior Clinician at Mountainside Treatment Center, both of whom served in the United States military, discuss the event and the deeper cause behind it with Carol Massar and Tim Stenovec on Bloomberg Businessweek Daily.
